It all began with a passion for Scottish single malts
It all began with our Master Distiller Rafael Dalmann’s passion for whiskies.
Always very curious, he started studying how and why one whisky could be so different from another, uncovering the secrets behind each stage of the process. He became especially fascinated by Scottish single malts—whiskies made exclusively from malted barley.
Influenced by his maternal grandmother, who was born in Russia, Rafael decided to begin his journey into creating spirits with vodka.
Combining his family heritage with his passion for single malts, Mondlicht Vodka was born—the first vodka in Brazil made from malted barley, fermented with exclusive yeast strains and distilled to Russian standards. This union of two worlds resulted in a phenomenal spirit, with a refined flavor and characteristics previously found only in whiskies.
Continuing his journey of creating exceptional products, Rafael poured all his expertise and passion into crafting a gin that features tropical aromas and flavors, using a blend of 15 botanicals. We sought out the finest producers around the world, as only the best ingredients would allow us to extract higher amounts of essential oils from the spices. The goal was to create a product that would stand out in any cocktail—and so, Mondlicht London Dry Gin was born.
Of course, no line of Brazilian spirits would be complete without the country’s pride: the noble cachaça. For this chapter of the journey, Rafael found the perfect partner—Master Distiller Jonathan Zimmermann, a third-generation artisanal cachaça producer. Blending Rafael’s whisky influence with Jonathan’s family tradition, Mondlicht Cachaça was created. It delivers citrus notes with a subtle hint of bitterness, offering an experience completely unlike the ordinary.
